Question of the Week

Q: When a hybrid male child is born between a human and Kalquorians, what about breed? Will one ever not fall into the three categories or Dramok, Imdiko, or Nobek? Or because of the Kalquorians' genetics, will they always fall into one of those categories?

A: Okay, this is going to include a tiny spoiler for those of you who have not read to the end of Shalia's Diary Book 12 yet. So I'm including some space for you to avoid the answer. Stop now if you don't want in any hints about how that book ends.

The rest of you, follow me down to the bottom of the post.

Okay, thanks for following me down to the bowels of hell. Your pitchforks are to the right, swimsuits for the lake of fire, to your left.

Just kidding. Some of you who read the elderly Anrel's letter at the end of Shalia's Diary might have noted she listed all the breeds as worthy of heading up their own Kalquorian houses. Tucked in there with Dramoks, Imdikos, and Nobeks was another category: the Merges. As in 'merged breeds'. In the Kalquorian universe's future, there will be those men who don't fit in any one, or even dual categories, due to the Earther genetics. There will be enough of them that the new category of Merge will be created.

Thanks for the question!

Do you have a question for me? If so, leave it in the comments section, and I might answer it in a future blog.

Please note, I may not answer some questions because they could give away some upcoming plots in future books.

  1. I read merges in the book and thought it was another name for the females some how. Didn’t even think of a different breed.
