Amelia knocked on the pod’s door and cried out as the innocent action sent fresh waves of pain through her hand and arm. She hoped the Kalquorians answered; knocking again was impossible.
The door opened, and Flencik's bulk filled the entrance. He blinked to see Amelia standing on his doorstep then grinned with delight.
"Hello, Amelia."
Despite the agony of her hands, she answered his infectious smile with one of her own.
