Shalia’s Diary Book 2 News

I’ve finally pinned down the release of Shalia’s Diary Book 2, which runs from the entries that start on October 1 and end on November 29 (the goodbye to Earth scene).  I will be putting it out to the distributors the last week of November.  Those of you looking to have the second storyline collected in one place will be able to add it to your libraries around Thanksgiving.

Thanks for making the Shalia’s Diary blog such a success.  With tens of thousands of views each month, I’m glad so many get to come along for the ride.  I don’t often comment on your feedback there for fear of giving away future plot twists, but I do read your remarks and enjoy the conversations you have.  I hope you continue to enjoy Ms. Monroe’s adventures as she makes her way to Kalquor.

WIP Wednesday – Clans of Kalquor 9: Alien Indiscretions

The next book in the original series will see tensions on Kalquor amping up as discoveries are made about secret deals in the highest reaches of the Empire.  The Basma is ready to take advantage of the revelations that come to light.  The foundations of the Kalquorian Empire will be shaken.

Against this background, Clan Diltan has been given their chance to attract an Earther Matara in the lottery.  In the years following his ill-advised attempt to lure the Imperial sister Lindsey McInness from her clan, Dramok Diltan has matured.  He’s still ambitious enough to covet the recently arrived cousin of Empress Jessica:  the lovely and demure Tasha. 

With clanmates Nobek Rolat and Imdiko Wal in tow, Diltan sets about wining and dining Tasha.  So what if there’s not much of a spark there?  She’s got refinement and grace – the complete opposite of her boisterous twin Cissy, who insults Diltan every chance she gets.  For his part, Diltan sees Cissy as crude and much too crass for someone of his breeding.  Even if she does fascinate him, she’s not the woman for his clan.

Cissy is having the time of her life dating young, fun-loving clans as she starts her life on Kalquor.  She’s glad to not be spending hours in the company of the stuffy and arrogant Dramok Diltan, though his clanmates seem all right.  Diltan is definitely more her sister’s type.  So why is it Cissy can’t help but watch his clan and be near them every chance she gets?

Rolat and Wal are used to Diltan’s ambitions and know when to put a halt to his schemes.  It’s not long before they realize they are dating the wrong twin.  It’s Cissy who grabs their attention and heightens their desires, not Tasha.  They can see that despite all his protests, Diltan is as fascinated with the more exuberant twin.  When a chance encounter leads to a night of passion, they know Cissy is attracted to them too.  The issue becomes a matter of getting Diltan and Cissy to stop fighting long enough to figure out they want each other.

November 2013 Update

 Shalia’s Diary:  Storyline 3 is in full swing and the theories are already flying as to what’s going to happen.   I can see it’s going to be a long month of getting yelled at by you guys. Believe it or not, I do not intentionally draw things out to torment you.  It's just how the story unfolds.  Hang in there.

I am working to get Shalia’s Diary Book 2 out this month in book form.  I'll put out more info as I get closer to having it ready to publish.  Do you love the cover?  I know I do.

Clans of Kalquor 2:  Alien Rule – The publisher has pulled the book from all distributors in order to offer it exclusively from their site.  That is the only place you can get this book right now.  My apologies to those of you who have been inconvenienced by this, but the matter is out of my hands.  Electronic rights return to me in mid-December.  I am working to edit and ready Alien Rule for re-release.  Unlike Alien Embrace, there are no substantial changes involved.  I’ve made edits for grammar and clarity only.  If you already own the original Alien Rule, I recommend that you do not buy this version.  I feel the alterations do not warrant you spending your money on it.  It will have a beautiful new cover though!  Once again, I will not have the print rights immediately, so a new print version will not be coming out at the same time the electronic version does.

New Year’s Challenges

Start a new book each month:

(January)  Clans of Kalquor 8:  Alien Caged – Holy Hannah.  I have no idea what is going on, but the sales of this book have gone in the stratosphere.  It landed at #3 in Erotica and #166 for all Kindle books this past week.  This is my best selling book yet, and I am so very grateful to all my readers for making this happen.  Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. 

(February)  Clan Beginnings:  Clan, Honor, and Empire – Over halfway done with the first draft of the Rajhir and Flencik portion of the story.  I will try for a March release.

(March)  First Mataras:  Michaela – I’m still writing a bit here and there.  Planning for a June release. 

(April)  Clans of Kalquor 9:  Alien Indiscretions –The outline is done.  Further work on hold.

(May)  Clan Beginnings:  Clan and Crown – Half of the outline is done.  Further work on hold.

(June)  Brianna’s Clan -  Plotting done.  Further work on hold.

(July)  Clans of Kalquor 10:  Alien Hostage – Plotting done.  Further work on hold.

(August)  Clan Beginnings:  Clan Bacoj (Untitled) – Character sketches and plotting done.  Further work on hold.

(September)  Clan Companions 1 (Untitled) – Character sketches and plotting done.  Further work on hold.

(October)  Clans of Kalquor 11:  Alien Revolt –Character sketches done.  Further work on hold.

(November)  Clan Beginnings:  Clan Erybet (Untitled) – Plotting story.  Going back to the days when Conyod was a confused and traumatized runaway being helped out by Sletran.  Conyod grows up and Sletran finds this boy is now a man worth loving.  However, his commanding officer Erybet also wants Conyod and doesn’t want Sletran as part of the package.

The Couch to 5K Running Program:

I did it!  I finally ran 5K!!!  In fact, I've run it twice now.  Perseverance (and sheer stubborn will) paid off.  I will continue to run when the body is healthy and back off when it’s not.  I have now shed 46 pounds, and I'm hoping to unload 9 more.  Woot!  Thanks to all you who have offered tips and encouragement.
