Clan and Covenant Excerpt - Pre-Order Available Now

A royal emergency.

As he jogged behind Mok and the captain, Raxstad’s gaze found Prince Clajak standing with a couple of guards at the end of the hall. Clajak looked right at him…and through him. There was no spark of recognition. In fact, he didn’t appear to see Raxstad. The teen’s face was as blank as his Royal Guard minders, but it was the barrenness of shock rather than impervious regard.

His hands were bloodied.

“In here. You two—” the captain pointed at the pair of Global Security members besides Mok and Raxstad as they neared a room with an open door “—keep the door secured. The rest of you, in here.”

Raxstad had been in combat. He’d watched enemies tear his fellow soldiers apart. He was still hard pressed to not be shocked at the scene.

Perhaps it was because the room he entered was so civilized. Bright and cheerful, with window vids displaying the seaside over which the cliff dwelling loomed. A couple of desks with chairs faced each other. A vid board on which complicated equations had been written in two different hands. Computers, a pair on each desk. Raxstad’s impression was of a classroom.

An elderly man lay on the floor, covered in blood, his face as blank as Clajak’s and the Royal Guards. This blankness was death, completely at odds with the room’s tidy, polite appearance.

An arranged clanship. A threat to their lives. Does love have a chance?

Initially unsure about their impending arranged union, Dramok Korkla and Nobek Raxstad have grown to care for each other. They’re impatient to begin their life together when their parents spring a surprise on them: a third clanmate, someone they’ve never met, has been chosen to join them.

Imdiko Govi has delayed being promised to a clan for several reasons: his burgeoning psychology career and a past arranged clanship that went horribly wrong. However, his parents are certain they’ve found the perfect Dramok and Nobek for him and won’t take no for an answer.

The trio is reluctant to give the arranged relationship a chance, but sparks soon fly. Love seems assured, but trouble is waiting in the wings. Govi is crushed when he fails a patient, sending him into a tailspin that threatens his newfound relationship. Worse, as a member of the Royal House staff, Korkla soon finds himself in the path of a murderous foe. An attack on Raxstad threatens to destroy the clan before it begins.

Love on Kalquor is wonderful, if the trio survives to enjoy it.
