WIP Wednesday - CyberServed: Made to Order

As I mentioned in my last blog post, I've been putting together a new cyborg SFR series. The first book will be CyberServed: Made to Order, to come out (if all goes well) in April. Excerpts will be coming in the future, but for now, here's the tease:

She’s marked for death. He’s her only hope. But can a de-commissioned cyborg once programmed to kill humans be trusted with her life…or her heart?

They called him the Wall, part of a cyborg army that terrorized humans during a long war waged by those intent on wielding power. When Tosha Cameron, owner of a multi-billion corporation, first sees the deactivated cyborg, he’s a tattered remnant of a horrific past.

Most would prefer to see cyborgs destroyed, but those with vision see a valuable resource. When Tosha’s business rivals target her for assassination, the Wall—whom she renames Brick—is her best bet for protection.

Reprogrammed, Brick proves he’s more than a mere machine. Programmed to guard Tosha, he can supply her every need. He soon develops beyond his learning matrix and software, becoming capable of humanity…and more.

Dark secrets from a bloody past are waiting deep in his circuitry, however; secrets that could kill the woman he loves and has sworn to protect.

What's Coming Up

First, a quick note on what's here now...did you pick up Clan and Covenant yet? The reviews are awesome for Clan Korkla's beginnings tale!

Amazon, Amazon UK, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, print

Okay, enough of the sales pitch. What's coming up next? A few things.

On the Kalquor front, it's time to revisit a nun from Europa. Guys, I'm super excited about the tale that's been banging around in my head the last few months. I've been in the mood for a tough, no-nonsense heroine who kicks ass on her own terms. One who has left Europa and forged a path most of the nuns and aspirants would never dream of. One who needs a clan as uncompromising. We're talking the nun who worried the aspirants (except for Tina) more than Mother Superior: Sister Bernadette.

I have an image of her in my head, running supplies in her own ship and searching for the Kalquorian who showed her what it means to be true to herself. To find him, she has to first track down his estranged clanmates and convince the trio they belong together...and with her. I'm dying to discover what split the clan apart and how Bernadette ended up with her own ship, commanding an interspecies crew.

But while I write Bernadette's story, I have something else coming up. Last year, any time I needed a break to clear my head, I played around with a new, non-Kalquor series of stories. Don't tell the clans, but I've been checking out cyborgs. I have three stories coming up featuring sexy man-machines, and they'll all be released in 2022. The first book, Made to Order, will be going to the betas in the next month. I'm hoping to have it out in April. Mine to Keep has a couple of edit rounds to go; slated for July. And I've just finished the first draft of Built to Last, tentatively scheduled for October. More info is on the way in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out.

Once again, thanks for reading and reviewing Clan and Covenant. I'm delighted with how much everyone has enjoyed the latest adventure. And stay tuned for more news on Sister Bernadette!

Once again, please note I'm not yet been able to respond to comments left on the blog. The glitch is proving difficult to overcome. If you leave a question in the comments, I will have to answer them within upcoming blog posts until the issue is corrected. Thanks for your understanding.

Govi's History Timeline - Clan and Covenant is Now on Sale

Amazon, Amazon UK, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, print.

Yesterday, I showed you all Korkla's historical timeline (which mirrors Raxstad's for the most part since they were promised to each other at a young age). It's Govi's turn.

Govi's youth included a life-and-death struggle that never made it into Clan and Covenant or any other book. It's actually not rare for that to happen. I make these timelines to learn about what makes my characters tick. If any part of the backstory is essential to the book, it goes in. If not, it's just a piece of information lodged in my gray matter to help me deepen the character's outlook on life. Govi and his father Twes' almost tragic adventure is a fascinating piece of Govi's past, but it had no bearing on Clan and Covenant, so it didn't make it in.

These timelines are also not etched in stone. You'll see that originally, Govi didn't like the first Dramok he was promised to, and Hokma was older than him. In the book, that changed...Govi liked Dramok Hokma quite well, and they were close to the same age. The timeline is merely a guide to help launch me into a character's head, not a contract I have to adhere to at all costs.

Govi's Timeline

Year 0: Born to the owner of a transport manufacturing company Dramok Gerhu, the company’s human resources head Imdiko Dobnac, a wilderness survival teacher Nobek Twes, and the head of the company’s financial department Matara Holrid

Year 5:  Categorized as an Imdiko

Year 7:  Went on wilderness excursion with Nobek father, father was hurt and nearly killed, Govi goes for help, fighting for survival for two days before search parties find him and he leads them to his parent, who survives

Year 10:  Promised to an arranged clanning, Govi doesn’t really like the Dramok who is older than him.

Year 12:  Govi witnesses his intended Dramok torturing animals, they fight and he gets his ass kicked, he escapes and gets to his parents, Dramok placed in psychological therapy and clanning arrangement dissolved, the incident interests Govi in psychology

Year 17:  Finishes basic schooling, goes into psychological studies

Year 23:  Finishes psychological studies, has taken extra course work to be the best possible, hired by the hospital, has romantic liaisons through the years but is obsessed with his work to the point that nothing works out

Year 27:  Parent clan announce they have found a likely clan for Govi, not enthusiastic but he meets with Korkla and Raxstad; finds them intelligent and interesting, falls in love; trouble brewing as Korkla thinks Clajak is in danger; trio get involved

Korkla is confident he will enjoy being clanned to Raxstad and Govi, they accept him as their Dramok, because of Korkla’s age he seeks and gets permission from his parents, he clans his beloved mates

Amazon, Amazon UK, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, and print.

An arranged clanship. A threat to their lives. Does love have a chance?

Initially unsure about their impending arranged union, Dramok Korkla and Nobek Raxstad have grown to care for each other. They’re impatient to begin their life together when their parents spring a surprise on them: a third clanmate, someone they’ve never met, has been chosen to join them.

Imdiko Govi has delayed being promised to a clan for several reasons: his burgeoning psychology career and a past arranged clanship that went horribly wrong. However, his parents are certain they’ve found the perfect Dramok and Nobek for him and won’t take no for an answer.

The trio is reluctant to give the arranged relationship a chance, but sparks soon fly. Love seems assured, but trouble is waiting in the wings. Govi is crushed when he fails a patient, sending him into a tailspin that threatens his newfound relationship. Worse, as a member of the Royal House staff, Korkla soon finds himself in the path of a murderous foe. An attack on Raxstad threatens to destroy the clan before it begins.

Love on Kalquor is wonderful, if the trio survives to enjoy it.
