Joseph’s heart hammered as Almon tugged him into the sleeping space. The terror returned, screaming in his head that not only was he going to give himself to such a huge man, but everyone would know what they’d done. While Joseph recognized the ridiculousness of his paranoia on a planet where homosexual love was the norm, his psyche railed against it.

              His control over that hysteria was nothing less than heroic as Almon stopped beside the sleeping mat and drew Joseph close. The Nobek’s kiss was searing, and Joseph couldn’t help but respond, his cock filling with heat as Almon’s tongue searched and found his. However, it required effort to return the kiss and force himself to remain pliant as Almon ran his hands down his spine and cupped his ass.

              The Nobek’s palms smoothed their way up Joseph’s back again. He clutched handfuls of the soft, sapphire shirt he’d bought for his lover. He pulled it over Joseph’s head, baring the trim, toned torso. Quicker than thought, Almon shed his shirt too and pressed his hot, muscled flesh against Joseph.

              Such a behemoth, overwhelming in bulk and strength, dwarfing the Earther. Almon could do whatever he wished. He could overpower him. He could force him to his will, no matter how Joseph fought him.

              Too big. Too much!

              Joseph shrank from the larger male, pushing against the solid chest and taking a panicked step away. Almon stiffened and held his upper arms in an iron grip.

              “Don’t run, boy. Don’t you dare.”

              Joseph froze at the hectic purple stare drilling into him from above, better sense halting him from flight.  As afraid as he was over what was about to happen, it would be worse should he arouse Almon’s predatory instincts. Nobeks couldn’t help but chase down fleeing prey. What happened when they caught their quarry—well, every Earther had heard the stories. 

Released from a criminal psychiatric unit on the planet Kalquor, Joseph Walker starts his life over with the fierce Nobek who scares and entices him in equal measure. Coming from a society where same-sex attraction was punished by death, Joseph finds openly loving another man filled with its share of obstacles. He and Almon are committed to each other, but is it enough?
