Here are a few tips to keep in mind when you're waiting for your sweetie from the stars to arrive:
1. Realize he (or they, in the case of a clan) will pick the most inopportune time to show up. That's always the case in everyday life--you make a quick run to the grocery store in sweats, no makeup, and hair uncombed, and that's when every person you knew from high school also shows up. Same goes for alien abductions. At the very least, don't skip out on showering, deodorant, and brushing your teeth, just because your itinerary today consists of hanging on the couch to binge on 'Grace and Frankie' and Cheetos.
2. Learn an obscure survival skill. Yeah, do the basics like first aid, making a fire with sticks, or some other lifesaving talent. But consider adding something exotic that seems pretty useless in real life yet will translate into making you the star when you and your abductor hero go up against the least likely lethal scenario--because that's how it's going to go down. Who knows how useful fending off sharks or condensing sea water to get potable drinking water will be on Risnar?
3. Wear something you look good in but is easily discarded (without getting ripped) at all times. Kalquorians aren't known for their patience when it comes to getting you naked.
4. Take self-defense classes. Use them against your abductor. It won't do you the least damned bit of good against these superhuman heroes, but your adorable factor will go way up. "Aw--look at her trying to fight. Isn't she cute? Now I have a reason to tie her down."
5. Make any peace you need to with the idea of extra appendages. Don't wait until you're face to--well, whatever it turns out to be. Screaming, crying, or laughing in the moment is not a plot twist. It's just awkward, for both you and your abductor(s).
Other helpful ideas to help you make the most of your alien abduction can be found in the following books:
