After a misunderstanding over boundaries, Jeannie shows Kren that turnabout is fair play.
To cover his growing unease, Kren started talking
again. “So how do I find out if you’re sentient and not a clever creation
performing tricks you were taught? Then how do we convince the elders? I mean—”
He broke off with a yell and sprang away when
Jeannie’s hands closed over the twin globes of his ass and pushed them apart.
Kren whirled to confront her, spluttering. She stood there regarding him with a
calm but pointed expression.
Kren gave her the same insulted look she’d offered
him. Jeannie smiled. He ordered the shower off and started past her to the
stall door.
“Okay, I get it already. Don't grab. Don't stare.”
As he stalked by, Jeannie patted his ass. Enough
was enough.
The flesh at the base of his spine extended into a
long, striped tail. He wrapped the end around the offending hand, arresting it
in mid-pat and holding it away from his body. Kren smirked as Jeannie’s mouth
dropped open in shock, her eyes wide as she stared at the appendage holding her
captive.

He was her savior, but she was his salvation.
Jeannie Gardner escapes from her captors’ clutches only to find herself trapped on a planet far from Earth. When she is discovered by a muscle-bound warrior, she must prove to him, and the Council of Elders, that she is not a creature set free from a lab, but a sentient being from another planet.
If she succeeds, they will send her home. If she fails, she will be executed.
Risnar warrior Kren Bolep is duty bound to protect his village from the Monsuda and their creations. But this small pink-skinned female is different, special. As the bond between them grows, Jeannie’s vulnerability invokes Kren’s protective instincts, and he vows to uncover the truth and secure her future.
But there is a bigger threat looming. The Monsuda are coming to get Jeannie, and they’ll use whatever means necessary. When Jeannie is taken, Kren is forced to choose—disobey the Elders and place his people in danger, or lose the only person who makes him feel whole.
